Hydrogeological studies of surface waters

Surface waters, as their name suggests, are those found on the surface of the Earth. Its origin is in the precipitations not filtered to the subsoil and remain in lakes, swamps or in the channels of rivers and other similar bodies of water.

To carry out a good research on water quality, we do need an effective and credible sample of the water tested. Thus, the hydrological study is a key tool in the process of analysing surface waters or those found in aquifers.

As is the case with groundwater, its optimum use is to determine its quality, but also to define other parameters such as availability, in order to facilitate activities such as agricultural irrigation, generation of electricity or water for human consumption, through different engineering techniques developed by our extensive team of professionals.

All along in this hydrological study, it is fundamental to establish the physical characteristics of the surface water area, as well as its response to rainfall or other environmental phenomena in view of the affection that these can produce on the different infrastructures.

At IPMA, our engineering department designs drainage structures to restore the continuity of the natural drainage network of the land.

In addition, we develop cartographic models, inventories of surface water and aquifers and advise both individuals and companies on legal aspects of construction in the public hydraulic domain or police areas.

This is the catalogue of services we offer to our clients:
