Soil analysis for solar photovoltaic plants

IPMA offers a complete analysis of soils for Photovoltaic Solar Energy Installations.

Our company performs a sequence of services in three steps:

1

A previous feasibility study of the location of the photovoltaic solar plants, which includes location improvements, taking into account different variables:

  • The slopes on the ground
  • The geological characterization of the site
  • The hydrology

The process is completed with geological-technical research, which adds safety factors and allows to set criteria when making decisions about the feasibility of the project of photovoltaic solar plants.

These are penetration tests, test pits, soundings, Vane Test, thermal and electrical resistivity tests, applied geophysics techniques, in addition to the corresponding laboratory analysis of samples obtained directly from the soil to carry out a complete characterization of the site.

IPMA also has highly qualified equipment and personnel that carry out in situ testing to determine the behaviour of metallic structures depending on the terrain selected for the implementation of the Photovoltaic Solar Plant.

Within these tests we perform the following analysis:

  • Vertical load. PULL-OUT TEST
  • Side load. SHEAR TEST
  • Compression

We also offer added value for the client through the participation of professionals specialized in the calculation of foundation structures of solar panels of photovoltaic solar plants.

2

We design and optimize load-bearing structures, avoiding the depth of embedding and the characteristics of the profiles being greater than needed, contributing to cost savings.

3

Finally, we also offer the possibility of analyzing the potential corrosive effect of the soil in the metallic structures, ensuring they last over time.
