In July, August, September and October, IPMA performed works related to geotechnical studies for the construction of 22 photovoltaic solar plants in: Ashikaga Otsuka, Chiba Moraba, Fukuroda, Fukushima Koriyama, Gifu, Hazama, Hiraide Gunma, Kitsuki High, Kumamoto, Kumamoto Yamaga, Kumano Natural, Miyagi Dakeyama, Miyagi Konno, Miyazaki Tanocho, Saitama Hikigun, Takahagi, Tochigi Sakura Kitsuregawa, Tsukahara, Tsukuba Hole, Tsukuba Mirai, Tsukuba Stones y Yamaguchi.

In order to get it, our team designed a field-work campaign based on:

  • Geological and Geomorphological context
  • Hydrogeology
  • Geological Cartography
  • Seismicity
  • Geotechnical characteristics of the terrain
  • Profiles of geoelectrical tomography
  • Hydrological study
  • Foundations recommendations

In March 2014, IPMA performed geotechnical studies for both EUROPE CLEAN ENERGIES JAPAN Takahagi and Tsukuba solar plants in Japan. As a result of this collaboration, our team has designed a field-work campaign based on:

  • Geological and Geomorphological Context.
  • Hydrogeology
  • Geological Cartography.
  • Seismicity
  • Terrain Geotechnical Characteristics
  • Foundation Recommendations.

PANDA 2 Variable Energy Light Weight Dynamic Cone Penetrometer tests evaluated the terrain’s geotechnical characteristics, according to XP P 94-105 standard.

In November 2014, IPMA performed Ramming Pole Test for a solar plant in Atacama Desert (Calama). This geological test of the soil is required to determine the necessary post embedment depth. Consequently, our team has designed a field-work campaign based on:

  • Vertical pull-out capacity test results.
  • Lateral load capacity test results.
  • Assessment of corrosion potential

During May 2013, IPMA carried out, for KALAM, the work corresponding to the Geotechnical and Socio-environmental Impact Studies of the project to construct the training centre Helder Neto Institute in Namibe (Angola).

The scope of the work performed was:

  • Geotechnical characteristics of the site.
  • Recommendations for foundations.
  • Pathology analysis for existing buildings.
